1/8/17 INDIA, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the Indian diaspora to first develop India by investing and contributing its expertise in the land of its origin. Modi said at the 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (Non-Resident Indian Day. Indian community was a priority area for him, the Prime Minister said the government was trying to convert 'brain drain' into 'brain gain' by inviting the diaspora to contribute their mite in making India strong and self-reliant. Brain drain has been considered a loss for the country as Indians went abroad seeking jobs and a better life. In his address, delivered in English and Hindi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the delegates, said, "corruption and black money have been corroding our system from within. Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa said, "Portugal is an open country, we will receive you with open arms if you consider it as your location for investment.  problems faced by Indian students abroad, problems faced by NRI students in India, the youth to give suggestions on creating an infrastructure to channelise their force. He also assured of all possible assistance from his Ministry for those willing to take up social projects in any part of the country.
